Bio Steven Pearson is an Associate Professor in the Art & Art History Department at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD where he has been teaching painting, perceptual drawing, drawing concepts, printmaking, color theory, 2d design and advanced studio since 2004. He is also the Director of the college’s Rice Gallery. Prior to that he was a Lecturer at Iowa State University from 2001 -2004, and an Adjunct Professor at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY from 1997-2001. He received his Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the Hoffberger School of Painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1997, and his Bachelor of Science in Studio Art from the College of Saint Rose in 1994. He served in the US Navy from 1986-1992. Mr. Pearson’s work has been exhibited across the U.S. He has had recent solo exhibitions in Baltimore, MD at the Sub-Basement Artist Studios and Frederick, MD at the Delaplaine Visual Art Center. Group exhibitions include Realities and Illusions at the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art, Novato, CA; Transparent Dialogs in Baltimore, MD: the Bridge Art Fair with AM Projects in Chicago, IL: Up Periscope: Artscape, Sub-Basement Artist Studios Pavilion, Baltimore, MD; Naked Abstraction, Sub-Basement Artist Studios, Baltimore, MD; Sea to Shining Sea, DCAC – District of Columbia Arts Center, Washington, D.C.
