Wilbur M. Reeling ~~ Artist, painter, writer, film maker, TV producer & director, college photography teacher and epicurean raconteur was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, studying painting and fine arts in 1964, 1965, 1966 and 1969. ~~ During the Viet Nam War he enlisted in the US Army to attended the US Army's Combat Motion Picture and Cinematography School. He also attended and completed the Leica School of Photography in Wetzler, Germany. He then served in Germany as an Army combat cameraman, cinematographer and artist with the world famous "69th Photo Company." He returned to Europe after being Honorably discharged, then resided in Western Europe and North Africa for over seven years before he settled to live and work as an artist, photographer and film maker in the United States. ~~ He is a well traveled renaissance man, father and gourmand. ~~ In 1994 he was selected as the TV Food Network's first executive producer and director for the Washington DC, Baltimore Maryland, Northern Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region because of his close ties to some the World's best European Chefs and his extensive knowledge of food. Reeling's home & studio for over ten years had been in the Historic Water Front Community of Fells Point, Maryland but he currently resides on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay where he continues to paint and develop new styles and techniques. Some of his painting exhibitions include Ralls Collection, Washington D.C. ~ Beverly Libby Gallery "B" Atlanta, Georgia ~ Delaplaine Art Gallery, Mount Saint Mary's College in Emmitsburg, Maryland ~ The Walter's Art Museum ~~ Harbor Court 5 Star Gallery, Baltimore, Maryland ~ Mt. Vernon Gallery, Baltimore, Maryland. Additionally he has also been asked to exhibit at the Walter Wickiser Gallery, A. Jain Marunouchi Gallery ~ Ward-Nasse Gallery ~ Montserrat Gallery and Agora Galleries all in New York City. His work has been published in ArtNews, Art in America, Washington DC Paper, Art Business News, The Baltimore Sun and Style Magazine. His work is in both private and corporate collections.
