Billy Colbert

Billy Colbert has exhibited all over the country. His most notable solo exhibitions have been museum shows at the African American Museum in Dallas, Texas and the Delaware Center for Contemporary Art in Wilmington, Delaware. Colbert’s work is in many private as well as public collections. Colbert’s public collectors include the African American Museum in Dallas, Texas, The National Academy of Sciences, Washington DC, The Washington Convention Center, Philander Smith College, Little Rock Arkansas, St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Colbert’s private collectors include the likes of former Los Angeles prosecutor, Christopher Darden, former NBA player coach and noted African American collector, Darrel Walker.
Colbert received his MFA in Painting from the University of Delaware in 2000, where he was a Presidential Fellow.
